Multiple Neighborhood Groups Speak Up
A number of neighborhood groups have begun sharing their concerns and putting their heads together looking for ways to protect our transit system, our home values, and our quality of life.
The homeowners association of Downing Creek, a Planned Urban Development off route 54 in Durham, has dedicated a portion of their website to this problem and has started a petition at gopetion.com here:
The petition has a preamble, followed by the short petition itself. This is a screenshot:
Before signing this I checked it out the gopetition site and I’m happy to report that it has an excellent reputation and has been highly rated by trustedsite.com and others. They will not share your information with anyone except the petition creator (which was Alex Cabanes at transit.downingcreek.org) and the officials we are petitioning: the Durham City Council and the Chapel Hill City Council.
As of this writing we have 450 signatures; please add your name to the list. With enough signatures they can’t ignore us.
